DEVELOPING A PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM WITHIN THE ARGES COUNTY BY EXTENDING THE LOCAL TRANSPORT SYSTEM TO THE PITESTI METROPOLITAN AREA

Considering the implementation of a a real metropolitan area grouped around three transport poles in the center of Arges county - Pitesti city and Stefanesti and Mioveni towns - there were undertaken a series of researches for the expansion of public transport of Pitesti to the whole area and resize the county transport network, the coherence of the two components being ensured by the judicious planning proposal of eight stations for travelers transshipment on the outskirts of the metropolitan area. Along with the expansion of the road network for metropolitan transportation by bus, given the high demand for transport on the "heavy axis of passengers' Mioveni - Pitesti - Stefanesti", it is proposed that these three cities to be connected by a network of fast transportation. This way will be ensure the reduction of the county transport network length and increase the economic efficiency for both components of the transport system - the county and metropolitan.
