The UNI guidelines to draw up action plans required by END in Italy

UNI - Italian Organization for Standardization, is finalizing the emission of a technical report entitled Criteria to draw up action plans to manage noise issues and effect. The standard development and publication has been proposed by the Italian Environment Ministry with the objective to support the issue of the Decree that will lay down criteria that Italian actions plans must respect. The Author chaired the working group who developed the standard text. The previous Italian legislation obliged transport infrastructures holders to project noise pollution reduction in an analytical manner, defining stated criteria to assign resources and typology of intervention in each critical area. The guidelines give methods to define actions plans in respect of this objective and to extend suitable methods to urban agglomerations. Documents aims are: - to help the promoters of plans to draw them up in accordance with their declared objective; - to give clear evidence of the criteria which as led the plan drawing; - to define requirements for adequate public consultations, during and after plan adoption. The paper describes scheme and main contents of the UNI standard prepared.
