THE IMPORTANCE OF GENDER AND MARKET TYPES IN MUTUAL FUNDS INDUSTRY

This study shows evidence that performance can persist. It is a known fact that women and men behave differently and this may affect fund manager performance. Apart from characteristics such as fund's size (flow), structure and expenses, the age tenure, educational level and compensation of the manager that can influence performance of a fund, the issues such as turnover and risk profile of the fund are key differentiating characteristics between male and female managed funds.
