In the context of the necessary reduction of pollutant emission level resulted from fuels combustion in gas turbines, the paper presents calculation methods for these products, and particularly the nitrogen oxides and reduction solutions, focusing on water injection. A theoretical estimation is made for determining the quantity of combustion products depending on the injected water quantity. Numerical simulations are made for methane combustion in the combustion chamber of a modified aviation gas turbine, with and without water injection and the theoretical and numerical results are compared from the point of view of the NO_x level. The conclusions refer to establishing the most relevant approach for emission reduction and the error sources leading to the differences between the obtained results.
