Qingchuan Earthquake Geoheritage National Geopark-Witnessed 5. 12 Wenchuan Earthquake

摘要

The proposed Qingchuan earthquake geoheritage national geopark located at the north edge of the Sichuan Basin,which is the province's border with Gansu,Shanxi,and also a border formation between the Bayan Kola block in the Tibet Plateau and the South China block in the Eurasian Plate. The particular geological structure of this park has important research value for the formation,developing and the evolution of Longmen Shan structure belt. There are two well-preserved scenic spot at present -Donghekou earthquake heritage scenic and Tangjiahe Nature Reserve & Giant Panda Nature Reserve, which including most heritages of this park and variety of precious zoology and botany resources, such as panda,golden monkey et al;besides,the karst caves discovered in Baijiaxiang has been on developing now. In this article we focus on Donghekou scenic area. After the government and rescue groups' positively reconstruction,Donghekou earthquake Herigage Park has been established,parts of scenic spots has recovered and open to the public again. The park's target at this phrase is focused on the geological disaster prevention and the earth heritage preservation, and the most difficult part is the potential disaster heritage spot.
