As a source of clean energy, liquefied natural gas (LNG) has an increasingly wide range of applications in China. At present, China's LNG imported from overseas is on the sea mode of transport. Jiangsu Yangkou Port LNG receiving stations to meet growing domestic demand for growth in LNG production and the designed ship is the Q-MAX LNG vessel which is the newest LNG ship size on the world. This paper is based on the ship handling simulator to have risk assessment of LNG vessel berthing and departing the terminal. According to the simulation experimentations the conditions that have greater influence to the operation of berthing and departing can be selected through combination of the ownership sub-system and environment sub-system and tug sub-system, then carry out further experimentations and data analysis, eventually establish the appropriate model to evaluate LNG vessel's risk for berthing and departing. The conclusion can provide scientific reference for the configuration of tug and risk control when the port is open.
