The work was initiated to explore hemostasis-immunity interrelation in 113 pregnant women withinherited and acquired platelet dysfunctions (thrombocytopathies) within various periods of gestation. Despitebasal thrombocytopathy platelets in the patients above were found to preserve capacity to interact withlymphocytes. We have managed to establish direct correlation between lymphocyte-to-platelet adherence (LPA)and hemostasis, demonstrating significant LPA reduction in the first trimester; the parameter increasing in thecourse of pregnancy with improvement in functional activity of platelets and blood coagulation activityenhancement.
