The Theoretical Predicament of China's National Image Promotion: an Analysis of Sino-U.S. Relations

摘要

The promotion of China's national image has been a focus in the agenda of the government and of academic studies in recent years. The roots for western countries' concerns and misgivings caused by China-rising are analyzed from three theoretical perspectives of International Relations. The author argues that it is inevitable to face theoretical predicament and there will be great difficulties to promote China's image by mere communication means.
