摘要

This paper tackles the most important discretization effects appearing when simulating sea surface around ships. Their impact on model parameters is used to assess which approximations are mandatory for reaching affordable trade-off between simulation loads and data accuracy. This study has been developed with GRECOSAR, a SAR simulator of complex targets based on a highfrequency RCS prediction tool. Two sea surface models are considered: one based on a two-scale approach and another dealing with sea spectrum theory. Their reliability has been assessed with probabilistic tests applied to open sea scenarios. The results show that realistic clutter is by now only achieved for the first model. The second one appears to need more computer requirements or a better tuned modeling methodology.
