This paper presents the Liquid Injection Molding (LEVI) feasibility of newly designed compounds based on Trilene~R Liquid Polymers (L-EPDM). The LIM process can be used for applications such as electronic, medical and fuel cell seals. Conventional high molecular weight EPDM polymers are topically not suited for LIM processing, due to their high viscosity. However, with L-EPDM based compounds, one part cure is achieved in a few minutes. These compounds are designed to run on conventional Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) liquid injection machines for mass production with excellent dimensional precision, with little or no modification of the equipment.
