Nano zinc oxide (NZnO) were surface modified by poly ethylene glycol (PEG) and poly propylene glycol (PPG). Modification was controlled by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer, Emmett, Teller (BET) specific surface area measurement, infrared (IR) spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Modified particles were applied as activator in vulcanization of natural rubber/styrene butadiene rubber (NR/SBR) blends. Dispersion of particles in rubber matrix were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Blends properties have shown better hydrophobicity and particles dispersion improvement.
