摘要

Carbon black was modified by in situ generated diazonium salt. Thetetrafluoroborate salts that were used to modify the surface were: ~+ N_2C_6H_4-S0_3H, ~+N_2C+6H_4-N(C_2H_5)_2, ~+N_2C_6H_4-COON and ~+N_2C_6H_4-CF_3. The surface of the modified carbon was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, XPS. The average surface concentration of functionalities detected by XPS is about 2 at. %, meaning that the nature of the group in para of the phenyl ring does not seem to influence the grafting mechanism.
