As a way of reducing the production costs of SOFCs much of the research work has focused on SOFCs operating at temperatures under 800oC which involves good electrode microstructures and cost-effective processing techniques. As for cost reduction, replacing ceramic components with metal components with a similar thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) is a promising alternative that should be considered.
