La2Mo2O9, introduced by Lacorre in 2000 [1], has been considered as a promising fast oxide ion conductor due to its high ion conductivity of 0.06S/cm at high temperature (800?C). So far, many research groups have been working on improving the properties of La2Mo2O9 and also the derivative materials [2-4]. However, the α/β phase transition and the oxygen ion diffusion mechanisms are not quite clear yet. In this work, we studied the effect of microstructure on the electrical properties and diffusion coefficients of La2Mo2O9 which were obtained by two synthesis routes.^
