Improvement of Water Resources Management in the Aral Sea Basin: Subbasin of the Amu Darya River in its Middle Reach

摘要

The need to improve the water management infrastructure and, specifically, the transition from an administrative and geographical water management principle to a more integrated water management of irrigation systems, as well as creation of the Water Users' Association is discussed in the context of the National Program: Strategy for Economic, Political, and Cultural Development of Turkmenistan for the period of up to 2020.
