A methodology to estimate optimum permitted exploitation of working coal face related to gas content factor has been developed. The model takes into account methane filtration from coal seam, roof and bed rock, broken coal into working face related to seam pressure, seam gas content, permeability, porosity and other factors. The underlying principle of the model is Darcy's law (one-dimensional pressure filtration of methane from coal, roof and bed rock into working coal face). The analytical model developed enables to forecast and estimate the level of optimum permitted exploration of working coal face. As the estimation results show, in case of prior degassing lower than 9 run /t (normal cubic meter methane per tone), even with low permeable coals, it is possible to recover coal at rate of 5 thousand tone per day and over.
