In recent years, more and more researchers are focused on multimedia communication problems between mobile devices and home networks. Combining resource-limited devices, such as PDAs, mobile phones, and automotive electronics systems, with home networks in a Peer-to-Peer manner can produce many more applications based on existing infrastructure and technologies. In this paper, a general architecture for extending OSGi based home networks to JXTA P2P networks is proposed and the authorization issues about peer joining and resource advertising are discussed. The extension of OSGi devices with JXTA abilities has been realized by "JXTA-bridging middleware" and "rendezvous proxy". OSGi devices are enabled with the ability to communicate with other networked devices through JXTA.
