Rejuvenation of Insulation in Aged Power Cables

摘要

Three short cases studies will be documented to highlight the efficacy of silicone rejuvenation technology. The first is a 115kV class transmission cable from Duke Power, the second will be a 3 phase, 1000kcmil, 260mil, 1973 vintage feeder circuit from Dominion Power and the third case will be a 500kcmil, 1968 vintage Cu, 175mil XLPE, 15kV cable that was one of the first treated cables at Dow Corning Corporation. The progress over the years and the great success of silicone cable rejuvenation will be discussed.
