Objective: through the survey of the present health situation of residents in hubei province, and analysis of the influence factors in health and how these factors influence people's health, strategy or standards can be provide the reference for carrying out health literacy monitoring and for health improvement and health education. Methods: according to the basic principles of the stratified sampling, health knowledge questionnaire survey in 1675 residents is carried out in urban and rural areas in hubei province The results: there are cognitive differences in health knowledge between urban and rural residents ,and overall cognitive level is low. Conclusion: to strengthen health life style and chronic, health education, infectious diseases and create supportive environment; Targeted health education activities are carried out, the level of people's health accomplishment should be improved; rural health education work is Strengthened, and the rural residents healthy state is improved; citizens health literacy monitoring and evaluation system must be established
