Unsupported composite oxides Ni-Mo-Al_2O_3 catalysts were prepared using a hydrothermal decomposition method of nitrate hexahydrate and ammonium paramolybdate for bio-oil hydrodeoxygenation. The catalysts were characterized using specific surface area (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the catalytic performance of the catalysts was preliminarily evaluated in a continuous fixed bed reactor, used hexanol, butyl ether, phenol and acetic acid as model oxygenated compounds. The results showed that the catalysts have excellent hydrodeoxygenation activity under mild reaction conditions. The Conversions of hexanol, Butanol, butyloxide, phenol and acetic acid were over 90%, under the following conditions: temperature 200-250°C, pressure 0.3-0.4MPa, H_2/feed ratio 200, LHSV 2h~(-1).
