Metal Organic Frameworks for Sustainable Energy Application Several new MOF structures are synthesized via ligand-directing and templating methods, which exhibits high selectivity for different molecules. Meanwhile, nano-composites of POM@MOFs are prepared by facile RT reactions, which also show unprecedented capacity and high selectivity toward biomolecules. Interestingly these new MOFs also exhibit extraordinary catalytic performance (up to Conv. 100% and Sele. 95.2%) in the cycloaddition of CO2 under solvent- and halogen-free conditions without any additives or cocatalysts (Fig. 1). Preliminary results also suggest some MOF nanocomposites that are prepared via RT structural directing methods show high catalytic activity under visible light.
