In order to investigate the influence of discharge quantity on SF_6 decomposition under dc partial discharge (PD), a needle-plate model was adopted, and SF_6 decomposition experiments have been conducted with different dc experiment voltages. Finally, the influence and SF_6 decomposition mechanism were achieved. The studies provide experimental and theoretical basis for establishing and improving SF_6 decomposed components analysis (DCA) for identifying dc equipment fault.
