摘要

We have studied the magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect in the molecular magnetic compound Ru0 2N12 7[Ci^CN)6]2 zH2O, Magnetization study reveals a ferromagnetic ordering below 62 K and the observed magnetic behaviour indicates the presence of a dominant positive superexchange interaction between the orbitals of the Ni+2, Cr+3 and Ru+3 ions. A quantitative estimate of magnetocaloric effect (at fields 500 Oe, 10 kOe, 20 kOe and 50 kOe) is made from the dc magnetization data. The effect is comparable to that shown by the materials conventionally used for magnetocooling applications.
