摘要

A theoretical technique is presented for determination of monostatic co- & cross-linearly polarized radar cross section of a modeled ballistic missile at each point on its nominal trajectory. The modeled missile is considered perfectly conducting. Techniques to determine co- &cross- polarized RCS of the missile using relative phase & random phase methods from the aspect and polarization dependent contributions of identified scattering centers are discussed. The method of components technique using primitives have been used for RCS evaluation of the missile i.e. modeled missile is considered as combination of conical nose, cylindrical body and very small flat plate fins. It is seen that small flat fins of long range ballistic missile having large electrical length contributes negligibly small scattering as compared to the main body of the missile almost at all aspect angles. The scattering contributions of fins of such type of modeled missile are neglected in RCS evaluation.
