A new zeolite(ITQ-33)with 18-MR pores connected by 10-MR was synthesized by using a flexible organic structure directing agent(OSDA)and high-throughput(HT)synthesis techniques under very unusual conditions.The role of pore diameter on zeolite acid strength is discussed by comparing the 18-MR pore(ITQ-33)with a 12-MR pore(ITQ-17)zeolite,with the same framework composition.Finally,catalytic properties of ITQ-33 for reactant molecules of different sizes are presented and compared with 12-MR(Beta)zeolite
