Two active formers of high-voltage subnanosecond unidirectional and monocycle pulses based on an energy compression scheme of a nanosecond pulse and two compact designs of passive stubs with oil insulation are presented. The pulse of initial generator RADAN-303 (driver) with amplitude -145kV and duration ~4ns in one case was converted by the active former to monocycle pulse (type of one period of sinusoid) with amplitude drop ~350kV and duration of period ~1.25ns. The unidirectional pulse former allowed to reach maximum amplitude ~-290kV in duration 0.3ns (FWHM), and with additional compression energy unit an average amplitude value amounted to ~-310kV. Electrical strength of the compact passive stubs was sufficient to convert an unidirectional pulse with amplitude -180kV pulse-width 0.5ns (FWHM) to a monocycle pulse with drop of peak-to-peak amplitude -150kV and drop duration 0.5ns when repetition rate up to 3kHz.
