The Rockliden Cu-Zn massive sulphide ore has been waiting for processing since its discovery in the1980s due to high antimony grades within the ore. The Sb-grades of the flotation concentrates donot correlate directly with the Sb-grades of the ore. This relates to a variable Sb-mineralogy and thedifferences in flotation response that these minerals show, as indicated by flotation tests. Therefore,the purpose of this study is to characterise the Sb-mineralogy of the ore as part of a geometallurgicalmodel. The Sb-minerals found at Rockliden include boulangerite, gudmundite, bournonite, andtetrahedrite. Additionally, arsenopyrite can contain up to 2.5 wt% Sb. Complex intergrowths of theSb-bearing sulphide minerals are common in the upper half of the tilted and steeply dipping orelenses, but are less frequent in samples from deeper parts of the deposit.
