This chapter focuses on the advanced manufacturing methods used in the fabrication of gas turbine fuel injectors, combustor liners, and turbine nozzles. Uniform distribution and proper mixture of the air and fuel is essential for effective combustion process. High-precision sizing of the multiple cooling holes in combustor liners and turbine nozzles is critical for engine emission performance and durability of these components. These requirements led to increased industry standards for significantly tighter tolerances. This chapter describes the newest machinery and manufacturing processes developed for fabrication of hot section components, reviews actual examples of such components and describes some concepts for advanced technological fixtures.
