Predicting Energy Spectrum of Prompt Neutrons Emitted in Fission Using System Reduction with Neurofuzzy Systems

The estimation of the energy spectrum of prompt neutrons emitted in fission, called prompt fission neutron spectra (PFNS) of actinides, becomes very important in nuclear science and technology in order to produce new PFNS evaluations of the new data for neutron-induced fission of the isotopes of uranium like ~(233)U, ~(235)U, and ~(238)U, with the uncertainties for actinide nuclei. In this paper, the prediction of the absolute prompt fission neutron spectra (PFNS), Φ(E) of the given isotope, ~(233)U, measured by the corresponding uncertainty quantification of emitted neutron energy, related bin-width correction, and neutron energy grid with applying various system reduction techniques, has been examined by the dimensionality reductions techniques. Through the neurofuzzy systems, the evaluations of the prediction are assessed by the various statistical categories. To compare the proposed paradigm with other dimensionality reduction techniques such as factor analysis, principal component analysis, subtractive clustering (SUBCLUST) analysis, and the various preprocessed multivariate analysis, the fission neutron spectra (PFNS) of actinides are evaluated by the reduced dimensions using the proposed paradigm applying the neurofuzzy systems.
