A Data Integration and Analysis System for Safe Route Planning

摘要

This paper is an essential approach to design a robust Safe Route Planner that can result in saving lives of drivers. Some roads are more prone to car crashes, it can be due to their geometric characteristics, poor visibility, road surface, road lightening, higher speed limit, traffic volume, or crossing animals. The use of big data can help us to detect hidden patterns, such as identifying road segments with high crash risk. In this research, we aim at designing a robust Safe Route Planner that is a fully automated approach to direct drivers to drive on roads with lower risk of accidents and to minimize the occurrence of road accidents.
