Software Quality Management Tool for Engineering Managers

Software quality is difficult to quantify due to the subjective nature of software quality assessment. Software quality, at the code level, is defined by quality factors such as reusability. Most software engineers, programmers and managers believe that quality factors are best judged by experts. However, expert judgment is often inconsistent and subjective. This paper presents two tools that help software project manager estimate software quality without relying on subjective assessments. The first tool provides a simple way to track quality factor values over iterations of code. The second tool predicts a quality factor at any given point of software development.
