The international standards series IEC 61970 (CIM) and IEC 61850 are basic for the future electric power delivery system

摘要

Within the power system management information for energy management purposes are increasingly defined according to the CIM (Common Information Model, IEC 61970) and communicated according to the standard IEC 61968. Automation in substation systems based on IEC 61850 is increasing as well. This standard covers interfaces to primary equipment, to the field and station level as well as to the power system management. Extensions for new domains like wind power and distributed energy resources have been defined. This article gives attention to the two data models, their use and interfaces for connecting the two systems and outlines the potentials of IEC 61850 for the power system management.
