The Application of Business Intelligence Solutions in Enterprises. Review of Selected Case Studies in Polish Companies

Efficient communication and access to the unlimited IT resources are becoming indispensable factors which guarantee development and business success. More and more often from access to current information depends competitiveness of the enterprise but sometimes excess of information can be harmful in the same way as the lack of information. It is important to collect gathered data in order to draw on these bases useful conclusions. Technology which helps to sort out data gathered in the enterprise and which may play crucial role in the management of enterprise are data warehouses and business intelligence systems. Article presents their role in Polish enterprises. It discusses benefits resulting from implementation of such solutions in different Polish enterprises. These systems are used by Polish enterprises to gain competitive advantage, they boost operational efficiency and lower operating costs. They have become fundamental for knowledge gathering and organization for the purposes of business analysis.
