Online Host Certificate Registration and Renewal System

摘要

With the proliferation of service oriented architecture (SOA), e.g. Grids and cloud computing, the number of services has increased accordingly. These services need a way to communicate securely. This is usually achieved using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), which uses digital certificates for authentication. With the increasing amount of services, the number of certificates needed for establishing secure communications has also increased. Maintaining these certificates even in a smaller data center can be a challenge. This paper describes a system for automating the certificate handling and maintenance thus relieving the system administrators from this often manually intensive task.
