Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) vibration sensor, compared to conventional electromagnetism vibration sensor, has some more advantages of good ingenious, high sensitivity, interference free of electronic-magnetism, adapt to long-term monitoring, etc. Fiber Bragg grating vibration detection is introduced and its mathematical model of measuring acceleration is established in the paper. A scheme of single point linear tilt filter FBG demodulation is designed and demonstrated to measure vibration in electric power, construction, rock and ocean engineering monitoring and so on. The demodulation of FBG detection is achieved via mathematical method and experiments. The static and dynamic experimental results and signal analysis prove that this demodulation system developed with this technique has a wavelength resolution of 0.01nm and a linear wavelength demodulation range of 10nm, which can detect frequency vibration and is feasible. The kind of demodulation system is simple and easy to implement in practice.
