Aviation operational impacts of proposed wind farms are normally determined by experts once the technical impacts are understood. Techniques, such as the Analytical Hierarchical Process may be used as a substitute for this human judgment. Such modelling - if successful - could enable wind farm developers to cut costs, development time and project risk. Management of radar risk and forecasting mitigation costs is important. Radar Impact Assessments normally consist of two parts. A technical assessment that determines the actual effects on the radar using Pager Power's bespoke system Sightlines or other systems. This is followed by an operational assessment which determines the impact on the air traffic service.
