WIND RESOURCE ASSESSMENT IN POLAND USING A MESOSCALE ATMOSPHERIC PREDICTION SYSTEM

摘要

The wind resource in Poland is assessed using the Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) developed at the US Naval Research Laboratory. COAMPS was applied over the territory of Poland for one year and every 24 hours giving wind speed time series within 365 forecast time windows of 48 hours each. The results were analyzed and processed providing a wind database used to generate Mesoscale Aeolian Charts (MACh) for the wind energy potential distribution over the country. Moreover, areas of high priority are identified providing original and important input information for the wind energy development plan in the country.
