Wind Potential Analysis for great heights with archived GFS data

摘要

Site assessments are normally worked out by long term correlation of measurements. This work introduces a new source of atmospheric data for correlation purposes as well as for boundary conditions of a NWM/CFD simulation. Analysis and 3h forecast data of the GFS-NWM (numerical weather model) are used in this approach to derive time series data for wind speed, direction and air density for sites world wide.
