Moving Towards Upgradeable All-Optical Networks through Impairment-aware RWA Algorithms

We propose an impairment-aware RWA algorithm that allocates a lightpath for services with different interface requirements at 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s across a common transparent optical network. Significant benefits are demonstrated when compared with existing techniques.
