Different teaching methods have been studied at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT), withinthe Department of Energy and Process Engineering. The motivation for this study was to find ways toincrease the amount of female students in the field of technology. One element has been to developteaching materials that are especially of interest to female students. The aim of this paper is tocompare female and male university students’ exam results in different basic courses in theEnvironmental and Energy area to verify the effect of tailored teaching material.
