This work pretends that performing a webquest powerpoint tutorial, students can acquire the ability todesign/select basic elements that compose a refrigeration system by calculating different parametersand query several catalogs from different manufacturers (Refrigeration links considered important inreal industry). We also believe that this initiative may be applied to any other installation designsubject or in other subjects.This educational exercise is composed by an exercise that consists in a webquest powerpoint tutorialthat must be accomplished by food technology students. This tutorial explains fundamentalthermodynamic concepts required in order to design a proposed refrigeration installation. Thiswebquest tutorial continually refers to free software from different refrigeration companies, wherestudents can calculate and select refrigeration components in order to design cooling installations.This familiarizes students with computer applications closer to industrial reality than mere theoreticalcalculations.
