Education is a life-long process. Learning apart from formal education, teaching activities are carried out for various gender and age groups. These activities are organized by in-formal education institutions and cooperatives. The basic function of cooperatives is not only to contribute to economy of the target community but also contribute to the individual development of the people. Needless to say, handicrafts are important endeavors using raw materials and economic activities in traditional societies. In Anatolian traditional life weaving has a special prominence. Raw materials are turned into products which people use in daily life by various techniques and using of raw materials. This branch of art appears to be a way of making a living for people. People engaged in weaving gain positive traits in planning their own life and in social relations. Women in Anatolia -where traditional way of life goes on- receive an informal education program in their free times after housework and they turn out to be producers not only consumers. Therefore, the subject of this study is the observation, examination and assessment of such educational activities-which are important for individual development and in terms of economic contributions to family budget- in their own contexts. Concordantly, the study will be conducted in some areas of Anatolia which are considered to carry the cultural features of weaving and where weaving is carried out as a way of making living. These educational processes will be observed in their specific contexts and their effects and outputs for people enrolled to them will be put forward. Findings of the study will be assessed with respect to Anatolian weaving and economic development.
