摘要

During the past few years, various novel techniques in thermal analysis have been applied to the study of polyolefin materials. Fast Scanning or Hyper DSC allows the measurement of weak glass transitions and suppression of kinetic events to accurately characterize materials as received. Fast scanning techniques in cooling allow isothermal re-crystallizations to be studied at rates approaching those of processes. DSC-Raman allows spectroscopic data to be collected during these runs. TG-GC/MS allows one to look at degradation products and additives from polyethylene samples in great detail. Examples of the data from these techniques will be discussed.
