摘要

UV and visible excitable ZrO2 doped TiO2/ZnO photocatalyst was prepared by sol-gel assisted surface templating approach. TiO2/ZnO gels were prepared with ‘Zr’ in 0.5 wt % and 10 wt% and calcined at 300 °C and 1000 °C. As-calcined materials were characterized by BET surface area analyzer, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The calcined materials were coated with 1% Pt using the chloroplatinic acid and their effectiveness on degradation and hydrogen generation from water- splitting and glucose oxidation was studied under simulated solar irradiation.
