As businesses seek growth and profitability improvements, they often look to new technology to provide new business opportunities for growth or to improve their competitive position. While offering high rewards, these ventures can carry project risks from technical uncertainties as well as market risks that come along with the introduction of new products. In this paper we discuss a new Technology Development Planning Model that highlights practices shown through quantitative analysis to mitigate the risks arising in projects incorporating new technology.
