OTENTIAL USE OF SUGAR BEET (BETA VULGARIS ) BAGASSE AS A RENEWABLE HYDROCARBON RESOURCE VIA FAST PYROLYSIS

In today's competitive world, it is important to have both product flexibility and diversity of an industrial plant. Depending on market developments, new potential demands may arise for a commodity already in demand by another industry. The Sugar industry based on sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) possesses such an advantages feed stock which can be converted to end and side products table sugar, molasses and bagasse demanded by the food, fermentation and feed industries. As the need for alternative renewable fuels has reached to a maximum more than ever it is worthwhile to reconsider some biomass based side products as a feed stock with respect to production of biofuels and chemicals. Currently, sugar beet bagasse (SBB) is used as livestock feed.
