Non-formal Education for Fisherfolk for Saving Threatened Ornamental Fishes of Gulf of Mannar, India

摘要

The Gulf of Mannar is the first Marine Biosphere in south and southeast Asia. There are 20 islands the coral reefs of which serve as feeding and nursery grounds for 113 spices ornamental fishes. These sources are under heavy threats such as quarrying of corals and illegal fishing methods.
