Influences of compressive and tensile stresses on an electrical resistivity of carbon fiber in high strength CFRP on bending test are studied as a basic research to develop high sensitive stress sensors. It is confirmed that both tensile and compressive stress of less than 0.2GPa on bending test decrease the electrical resistivity of carbon fiber, reversibly, The negative dependence of the tensile test is explained by decreasing the density of electron scattering sites, whereas the negative dependence of the compressive test is explained by the enhancement of the density of state of pi bonding electron.
