Introduction: Mathematically, the geometry of a long bone in association with its joints can be described as a sequence of cylinders in combination with coordinate systems at each long bone end. The joint orientation of the long bone is represented by translation and rotation of one coordinate system at one joint side in relation to the second coordinate system on the other [1]. In order to accurately define the deformity of a long bone, the parameters of six degrees of freedom (three translational and three rotational parameters) in conjunction with the position of one or more CORA (Center of Rotation of Angulation) have to be specified [2].
