The possibility of electromagnetic oscillations generation and amplification on the base of resonance - tunnel emission (RTE) from flat and cone cathodes with multilayer SiO{sub}x-Si-SiO{sub}x coating have been investigated. RTE dependences on temperature and composition of cathode coating layers have been studied. The researches were performed in frame of previously created mathematical model of RTE with taking into account the contribution of emission from emitter accumulation layer and with neglecting of the influence of surface states in cathode layers on electron emission. The investigations were fulfilled theoretically in effective-mass approximation by the numerical solution of time independent Schrodinger's equation and Poison's equation at corresponding boundary conditions.
